Lowrance Electronics' LowranceNet is a proprietary implementation of NMEA 2000 using the open-architecture NMEA 2000 protocol but with proprietary cables and connectors to interconnect Lowrance's products. These products aren't NMEA certified. Lowrance also manufactures a line of nonproprietary Electronic Probes (EP) for measuring fuel flow, water temperature, fluid levels, and boat speed that are fully NMEA 2000 compliant and certified.
