A medium-sized fishing and naval port in a beautiful setting, situated in the W corner of the Bay of Al Hoceima. The port is enclosed by steep hills and protected from the S by a breakwater which connects the rocks of Los Tslotes with the shore. This is another harbour in Morocco undergoing radical changes. So far, the improvements have involved the creation of a new ferry terminal but have not benefited visiting vachts. A
road and steps lead up to the village of Al Hoceima on top of the hill. The bcach in the bay is popular. This is one of the only ports in Morocco where yachts have never been welcome, though this is offset by the fact that it is a good haven between the Straits of Gibraltar and Melilla.
