Use Marina Smir as a reference point. From the Straits of Gibraltar, head for the S slope of Jebel Zcm Zem. Marina Smir will be seen with its travel-hoist. Kabila is difficult to identify until very close, when the white three-storey control tower will first appear, located 2M S of Marina Smir. Current and tide is negligible in this area. Entry is not recommended in strong easterly winds. Beware of tunny nets located E of Marina Smir.

The entry silts frequently, but minimum depths of 2.5m are usually found on the left side of the channel. Keep well over towards the outer breakwater on rounding the light. Depths increase once round the breakwater. Head for the visitors' quay, 30m directly ahead, below the control tower.

You will be directed to a berth once formalities have been completed. Depths around the visitors' berth to the first pontoons arc usually around 3m. Further in, depths shelve. There is little room for large yachts to turn because of the silting.

There seems to be no intention currently to re-open the marina entrance. Xo prices are available.

Customs, police and immigration authorities are located in a separate building next to the tower. Entry and exit formalities here have in the past been protracted.

Water and electricity At each berth.

Fuel Available from the visitors berth by arrangement with the marina office.

Provisions A local shop is located within the tourist complex next to the marina. M'Diq is nearby and can provide most essential supplies. Gas Available in M'Diq.

Post office and banks In the centre of M'Diq and in Tetouan. Repairs Engineers can be arranged with the marina staff and a small hoist is available up to 15-tons.
