This import was built in France by M. Lanaverre, using the same high-pressure plastic molding technique he did in his successful racing 5-0-5 dinghies (world champion in 1958 through 1960). She comes with a galley area for stove and stowage and an icebox but no sink. Best features: The boat has foam flotation for safety, and a well (not shown in plans) for an outboard. The layout below, despite the absence of a sink, is well thought out and comfortable-looking. (You can always wash your hands in a plastic bucket.) Worst features: The reverse sheer on the hull, meant to increase headroom and buoyancy when heeled, may not appeal aesthetically to everyone. The boat's racing pedigree in the 1970s was good, but her relatively high wetted surface, narrow beam, and shallow rudder are no match for more modern designs. The rudder, especially, seems too small to be effective in difficult conditions such as beating in high wind and a severe chop or flying a spinnaker in broaching conditions.
